Greene, H. 1980 30 April Area where we saw lots of Dipsoasaurus, (cont.) some very large, was in the vicinity of the intersection of Split Mountain Road & Old Kane Spring Rd., ~2 mi S. Octillo Wells. Octillo wells High 78 1.3 mi crotalus cerastes (DOR) 0.5 mi Dipsoaurs Split Mt. Rd. Old Kane Spring Rd. The desert iguanas were along roadside on elevated rocks and the graded soil ridge. They seemed to have full stomachs, very warm bodies, and weren't especially wary.
