Cool, windy, overcast - not as bad as yesterday but not right for lizard . We saw only Dipsosaurus turds and a roadrunner. Looks like a good place for Uma and Crotalus cerastes. 9182.5 - turn R on Hwy 2. 1/45 hr. 9201.1 - DOR Masticophis flagellum, <= 1m. Creosote, willa, ocotillo . Red w/ black neck. 9201.8 - DOR ground squirrel, lactating ♀ Both of above within Anza Borrego Desert State Park. 9230.5 - turn E on 78. Still cool, cloudy, windy. 1315 hr. 9233.8 - large DOR Diechanura in Serenoa Canyon . 2 photos, pickled snake. 9256.6 - Split Mountain Rd, ~2.2 mi SSE Ocotillo Wells Dipsosaurus - 2 juveniles, roosted off road bank. One enormous adult missed. Hot & sunny. Corner of Split Mtn Rd & Old Kane Springs Rd, San Diego Co. DOR C. cerastes just at JCT. 9259.1 - we go down Old Kane Spring Rd. 9259.4 - turnout - we stop to look. Saw several Callisaurus while driving to here. Missed 1 large Creimodophorus & ( Callisaurus ) here. (see page after next for map).
