Greene, H. 1980 18 April (cont.) Janpropeltis getulus - one under small rock on the talus slope where we found Areides. Crotalus viridis - 4 on NE facing slope. One juvenile I found under a 4x12" piece of wood had obviously recently eaten. Our attempt to get it to regurgitate resulted in rupture of the vent, exposing a Scelopous in the gut. The second was a large adult under a piece of bark that rested over the end of a large log. Snake was tightly coiled, facing sun; bark not touching it. A perfect situation for snake bite and the student were impressed.
