San Felipe, S.L. Lower Calif. Mexico. April 16, 1926. and a few St. Lucas Flycatchers, Empidax griseus, Oboromis suchas occidentalis, Oboronis Molmieri & Zenaidura macroura 1 & Troglodytes adon parkmani, 1 & Craspija chlorura , Veres very vicineior , 1 Lagomis nigricans semiatra & Ardea herodias 1 Dendroica occidentalis, 1 Dendroica nigrescens and 1 Hylocichla guttata slavini. The long draw that runs parallel to the beach and just back of it was filled with these migrants who hopped around in the dense Lycium bushes & allowed close approach. When we reached the tide mark 4 Ardea herodias immediately flew off away, they were very wary. We observed two ducks in the slue But when I flink close enough to shoot there was only one & it was a Clangula clangula Americana ♀. An examination of the slue in both directions did not disclose the other duck. On the way back we I saw 1 Pandion haluete Carolinensis 1 Aperjella breweri, a few Costae Celypte costae , 1 Filmmus polyglotis Leucopterus & Passerella -- and a few Polioptila plumbea .
