Lophortyx californicus vallicola ♂ 14¾ q. G. killed in thicket under mesquite. Went down to the south end of the bay about 5 or 6 miles away. saw took one Aegialitis semipalmata one Symphema semipalmata miornata two Larus heermanni and one Lesser Lythya affinis. Saw small flocks of Aegialitis semipalmata and Aegialitis rivosa. Many Larus delawarensis, Larus Californicus, Some Larus occidentalis lucianus, and Larus argentatus, many Stoma caspia and Stoma elegans; many Lythya affinis and Didemia sorpicellula. Many Gara (?) one Pandion haliaetes cardinensis, some Pelecanus calif- omicus and three Pelecanus ery- thropyndus; some Phalacrocorax (?) one Didemia deglandi about three pairs of Himonious longirostris, ten to twelve Upshya Virgata, two Nycticorax nycticorax naevus, one Ardea herodias.
