San Felipe, s.l. Lower Calif. Mexico. April 2, 1926. Went hunting on the beach this morning while the tide was far out. Saw a Long Billed Curlew but could not get near him. Gulls were numerous. Ran onto a large flock of about 50 terns Sterna elegans, Sterna maxima, Sterna cassia, with S. elegans in predation. They allowed us to come within about 50 yds of them when we both shot & dropped four. The rest then hovered overhead, screaming and wheeling until we came close. Even then we managed to kill quite a few more as they flew past. Coming back by land we found a Shearwater carcass on a Giant cactus. Found an unoccupied Vireo's nest and saw many hummingbirds, presumably Costa's. Saw also, Great Blue Heron, Vultures, 3 or 4 Ravens, Jack Rabbits & numerous lizards.
