Gilmore 1926 Clayon Canyon, 3200 ft. E. base San Pedro Martis Lower California, Mexico. June 3. Mentured and in the same kind of association. Two steel sets in the near vicinity drew some jays but by bad luck (or good luck for the foxes) they did not happen to step on the jims. Saw a couple of juvenile I. excullatus nelsoni near tthere also. In the evening I caught a water snake in the same place. It was lying still among the rocks at the very edge of the water and when cought attempted to escape into the water. A pair of Rana also drew my attention. I were caught also. They were a parent with a young on its back. No matter how fast the elder jumped, swam, or was shaking the young Rana would hold on for dear life with its front feet buried in its parents armpits. Killed several pipistrelles in the dusk and heard two Horned owls + one Screech owls, but owing to a broken Flashlight it was impossible to find them.
