0825 at Behavior Lab. Weather dr--
scurcd, within stratus closed, base
of cloud estimated 300' below station.
light wind, active fog drop from tall
eucalyptus, visibility less than 100 yards.
0900-0930 Serviced and checked
instruments. Clouds gradually
cleared to bright sunshine at
1010, but with 5/10 ST remnants
in the sky. Cleared weeds during
this period, then assisted George
Heinzlman in finding and catching
& and 1 young bandicoot for re-
moval to another cage. 2nd young
could not be found. Completed
work in pen at 1125.
May 1. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co.

no evidence of quail in surrounding
area; heard a quail call as I
entered the hut, then saw a weede
(Red?) in the pen running toward
quail feeding outside. Weather
clear with light wind. Sun
just leaving the top of the pen
and tops of trees still sunlit.
