Weather: overcast with low thick clouds, pen within cloud base with visibility less than ½ mile. Moderately strong gusty wind, light rain, intermittent light to moderate for more than 24 hours past. Saw 6 quail when I entered pen. April 7. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 1105 Checked pen in Belairin Lab. and read rain gage. Weather broken CU, mostly congestus mod- crate wind with light turbulence. April 8. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 1610 at Belairin lab Pen; weather fair with sctd CU after night and rebuing showers. Rain gage 0.15”. Light to moderate SW wind without turbulence. Serviced instruments. At 1731 the sunlight was off the ground surface within the pen. 1800. Entire structure pen in shadow; end obs.
