Weather clear and calm, but with dense fog visible in the valley below, extending to the far side of Portuge Canyon. At 0615, as the sun came over the eastern hills, fog thickened locally and obscured the sun com- pletely within 5 minutes. 1025 Departed for Berkeley, mileage 36628. 1200 King City (36709). Gas and lunch to 1220. Arrived Berkeley (UC) 1515, home at 1540, mileage 36865. Total distance 502 miles. March 31. Strawberry Canyon, Calif. 1540. Observing in pen in Behavior lab.
