W.J. Francis 1963 24. Journal March 27. Hastings Reservation, Monterey County. At 0947 saw 4 does at very crest of this hill. 0950 a pair of Golden Eagles passing overhead, gradually working to the west. 1004. A flock of about 30 (or more) Band-tailed Pigeons in large flocks in clearing on top of ridge SW of feet. Continued flushing pigeons in open oak woodland as I continued down slope to the road, and back to house at 1030. Following supplies left here: 2 dry cereal Small cleanser 1 coffee Brillo 1 can soap small detergent 5 pkg soup mix 1 scale salt & pepper shakers 2 single sheets, 1 pillowcase can sugar 1 Mexi-corn 1 SaverPlant. 1 Kitchen Knife. Weather during the morning has been variable, mostly cloudy but some sunshine, wind turbulent, occily strong from SE, and a few short rainy periods.
