FR-124. McMillan Ranch, San Luis
Obispo County, Calif. Lax herb
with me to several stems from
base growing on level meadow in
association with grasses & herbs, some
fresh lupines nearby. Small yellow
flowers in [illegible] cluster,
terminal or axillary peduncles.
Plants in a dense patch 15' x 7',
held erect by other plants to a
height of 10", but recumbent
at the edges.

FR-125. Robust erect shrub-branched
from central stem, 4-5' feet tall,
bright yellow flower head, herbage
prickly, leaves also glandular.
On pen in Belvoir Lab, Strawberry
Canyon, Alameda County, Calif. Con-
centrated in areas A-5 to A-9 and
B-5 to B-7, replacing former growths
of Medicago.
