BOTANICAL SPECIMENS. FR-101. March 26, 1963. Hastings Reservation, Monterey County. Erect herb 8-12 inches tall, flowers deep yellow with orange at base. (Amsinckia - Fireweed.) On bank between dirt road and parking lot in front of office buildings. Amsinckia douglasiana DC Buckthorn weed; Fireweed. (Boraginaceae) FR-102 March 26, 1963. Hastings Reservation, Monterey County. Dissected leaves in green rosettes, prostrate to partially erect. Flowers nearly erect, lavender-purple; fruit with long beaks, 1-1/4" Erodium cicutarium L'Her. Growing on same bank as FR-101 above; also throughout area, especially on disturbed and compacted ground.) Red-stem Filaree. (Geraniaceae)
