Weather mostly clear with few CU, moderate westerly wind, slight turbulence, good visibility. Scattered me can of grain in the pen. Set and baited traps outside the Behavin Lab. 16:30. Checked traps - took several birds in trap #1, but before examining them, I slipped and fell on a hard area of brush, and gashed my right hand badly at the base of the thumb. I picked over the trap to release the birds, then returned to the highway and flagged down a passing motorists who took me to Lowell Hospital, where the wound was dressed and eight stitches taken. Meanwhile Cruz, whom I called from the hospital, went up to the traps, collected my gear and brought back the Ford which I had left up there, after releasing two birds that were entangled in the net used for removing the birds.
