Weather clear, gusty and shifting winds, unlimited visibility. Dec. 20. 1145. Checked quail traps and serviced rain gauge, 0.39"; total 7.61". Dec. 21. 1100 Checked quail traps, released one previously banded quail from trap #2, and left the traps unset. 1110 Serviced weather instruments in the Behavior lab. pm, rain 0.69", total 8.30". Scattered one can't grain in the pen. Weather overcast, ST over the hills with base 200' below the station (var- iable), middle clouds visible through occult breaks. Strong southerly wind with moderate turbulence. Later- mittent rain after heavy showers during last night. Dec. 24. 1200 at Behavior lab. pm, weather: station obscured in heavy ST covering the hills, base about 600' below the station. Calm.
