W. J. Frances 1964 61. Journal Oct. 19. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County 0915 at Behavior Lab. pan, weather clear, fresh N to NE winds, moderate turbulence, warm and very dry - 75°; 15% R.H. Water hole dried up, all vegetation, except eucalyptus and Baccharis shrubs, & a few clumps of grass is dried up and brown. Serviced instruments, filled water hole and pan, and scattered one can of grain; observed from hut from 0930 to 0947. Oct. 22. 0955 at Behavior Lab. pan, weather clear, light NE'ly winds with no turbulence, still warm & dry. Water hole empty, but bottom still damp. Refilled water hole and scattered one can of grain, left pan at 0958, observing birds from the hut. Oct. 25. Sunday. Changed to Pacific Standard Time. Oct. 26. 0805 at Behavior Lab. pan, weather overcast locally, haze covering Grizzly Peak. Alto cumulus noted currente. Light westerly wind, no turbulence. Serviced instruments, filled water hole, and spread 1 can of grain.
