W. J. Francis 1964. 10. Journal. Sept. 28. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda co. on the pen. Serviced hygro- thermograph. Water hole was low with evidence of much splashing - dickey birds have evidently been bathing a great deal. Oct. 2. 0830 at Belaria lab. pen, weather clear, calm, and warm. Water hole dry; refilled, and scattered one can of grain. Oct. 5. 0830 at Belaria lab. pen, weather 7/10 AC at 8000' (est.) with fog over the bay, top 600' below the Station, calm. Water hole dry. Serviced instruments, filled water hole, and scattered 1 can of grain plus some pigeon grit. Oct. 12 0805 at Belaria lab. pen weather: dense fog over Berkeley Hills, lighter to the east and at the station visibility 75 yards, sun's disk visible becoming bright by 0820; vegetation only slightly damp and no condensation on the core of the pen. Water hole dry. Ser- viced instruments, replenished water and spread 1 can of grain.
