W.J. Francis 1964 51, Journal Aug.7. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. Reset, relocated & rebaited with a grease and chick-chow mixture, about 3/2 of the mouse traps, previously used bait was peanut butter with rolled oats. Filled water hole & scattered several handfuls of grain. Left station at 10:15. Aug.8. 0845' weather at Behavior Lab. pen: observed in 57 covering lay and hills, moderate southerly wind with slight turbulence. Serviced traps, took 4 Microtus , total 51. Re- finished water & grain, and left at 0900. Aug.11. 1635' at Behavior Lab. pen. Weather clear, light winds, slight turbulence. Water hole completely dry. Filled water hole & scattered several handfuls of grain. Serviced traps, took 4 Microtus (total 55) and one junco banded Green + Lavender on right leg. Left un sprung traps but did not reset any. Aug.12. 0840 at Behavior Lab. pen. Weather clear, calm. 0940 Collected remaining mouse traps, none 8
