W.J. Francis 1964 48. Journal. July 30 Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County the hot until 2:05, then serviced traps, taking 11 Microtus for a total of 15. July 31. Drive through Wildcat Canyon current to Behavior Lab. in Strawberry Canyon, arriving 0830. Weather clear, light to moderate SE'ly wind with no turbulence. Serviced mouse traps, taking 3 Microtus (total 18), reset + relocated traps. Serviced H6, spread grain + filled water hole, and cleared more thistles from pen. Aug. 1. At Behavior Lab. pen at 1125; weather 9/10 Cu and Sc locally over East Bay Hills only; light wind, with occasional moderate gusts. Serviced mouse traps, took 7 Microtus for a total of 25 to date. Clouds are moving rapidly east to west and gusts becoming stronger by 1200. Reset and relocated traps taking two more Microtus (total 27), and ended visit at 1240. Aug. 2. 1315 Serviced mouse traps, took 7 Microtus , total 34. Reset + relocated traps.
