W.J. Francis 1964. 39. Journal. May 25. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 0855. at Behaim lab. pen. Weather clear, visibility good light wind with moderate turbulence. Filled water hole, spread a can of grain, and serviced instruments. Water hole was completely dried up. left the station at 0920. May 26. 14/10 Behaim lab. Weather 8/10 Cu, showers last night and today. Light swlly wind, slight turbulence except in showers. Serviced rain gauge (0.02"), refilled water hole. Toole sample of herb near two of the quail nests, and checked them at the Jepson Herbarium; identified as Aster chilensis. May 28. 1330. Behaim lab. Weather overcast C1 and C5 with breaks, light winds with slight turbulence. Checked rain gauge in pen (0.04") Observed from the hut until 1405, then spread a can of grain and refilled the water hole.
