Hastings Reservation, Monterey County and drove back up toward Calaveras to check possible scavengers at deer carcass noted yesterday - nothing there, a turkey vulture seen soaring nearby. Returned and took departure from Hastings gate at 0945 mileage 53624, and returned to Berkeley via Monterey and Santa Cruz, arriving home at 1427 mileage 53784. Total trip mileage - 616. April 13. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County 1000 Weather at Behavior Lab clear, light wind no turbulence, no dew at this time. Serviced instruments, spread 1 can of grain, and filled water hole. They walked over brush & fields outside the Behavior Lab to the north until 1055, and left the station at 1105. 1800 Observed quail in the Behavior Lab pen until 1858.
