0615 Weather, light easterly wind, no turbulence; excellent visibility;
grass in open fields moderately wet with dew, very few small frost patches. Checked headquarters area for quail.
During the day dismantled the weather station on the hillside, after celebrating the 3 Foxboro probes in ice bath, shade, and sunshine. Stored the small shelter in the barn; large shelter & instruments to be returned to the Entomology dept. at Berkeley.
1710 A careful survey of usual quail foraging & roosting areas, until 1640, gave completely negative results, not even any distant sounds of quail boring head.
