W.J. Francis 1964. 22, Formal March 7. Hastings Reservation, Monterey County. morning, and thunder, hail, and a snow flurry about noon, then clearing to scattered cumulus, and entirely clear at Hastings on arrival. Wind shifted to southerly just before leaving Me- Willaits, perhaps local shower wind. March 8. Weather at 0640 clear, very light down-canyon wind, small amount of frost on ground but frozen quite hard. 0655 Psychrometer reading on the ground (bulb 3" high) 25-1/2°, wet frozen or wet bulb. No signs of quail this morning. Serviced instruments, removed and stored all traps, and left for Berkeley at 1042, mileage 52218. Arrived Berkeley 1358, mileage 52362 1725 Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. Commenced observing in Behaia lab pen after scattering 1/2 car of grain, filling water hole, and checking rain gage. March 9. Weather at Behaia lab pen at 0910: ST, with base 300' below station obscuring sky; light inter- mittent drizzle; light wind with
