Journal.
March 6, San Juan Canyon, San Luis Obispo County.
Tree with Golden Eagles nest, just before
coming into cultivated part of the
canyon. Thence to McMillan Ranch,
arriving 1353, (mileage 52088). A well
developed thunderstorm was located to
the west about 1500, but San Juan
Creek area had clear skies, with
only scattered Cumulus. From 1400
to 1430 looked for quail in the
planted brush beyond the old house,
interrupted by a short rainy
period. Sky now completely over-
cast with CuNb; apparently a
major cold front is bringing a
line of showers & thunderstorms.
1730 After only a few light showers,
sky nearly clear, some cumulus;
brisk west wind. Ended observations.
1900 Psychron check of Friez hygrothermograph:
H.G.: 40° - 43% Psychron: 40.5-33° - 41/9o
