Weather clear and warm, moderate wind with slight turbulence. 1333. Left Berkeley (Univ. and Sacramento), mileage 51792. Stopped in Gilroy to replace gasoline filter, and arrived at Hastings Natural History Reservation, Carmel Valley, Monterey County at 1930, mileage 51934. March 5. Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co. 0720 Weather overcast with breaks, low sc topping surrounding hills, light wind without turbulence. 0730 Noted a pair of Marsh Hawks (?) over grassy west slope. Made a circuit of usual quail cover locations around the headquarters
