W. J. Francis 1964 Journal. Jan. 10. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0840 at Behain Lab.' pen. Weather nearly clear, '10 ci in southeast quadrant, cold & still damp from last night's rain (0.07"). Some frost on vegetation tips in the pen. Serviced rain gage and traps. Jan. 11. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 1035. Serviced traps. Left them un- sset, but visited the area when a second check at 1600 found no birds. Jan. 13. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0825. Serviced instruments in the Behain lab. pen. Weather overcast with occasional breaks AC and AS; continuous layer of AS est. at 10,000 feet, variable lower clouds, vegetation dry; haze over the bay. Very light wind with no turbulence. Visited the two traps refilled and left them unset. All bait was eaten around the trap inside the Be- chain station; a small portion remained inside the trap outside. Scattered are full can 1 grain inside the pen. Left the station at 0915. The water
