W.J. Francis 1964 2. Journal Jan.7. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. inside the pen, and reset it in the open grassy area next to brush inside the Behavin hat. fence near the west gate. Jan.8. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County 1045 Set up new 3'x5' trap in the edge of the Baccharis patch west of the Behavin hat. Kept the trap unset and baited the area around with 1/2 can of "chile clear". Cut down some of the taller weeds in the center of the pen. Weather: 940 Cirrus clouds, in a few spots dense enough to obscure the bright disk of the sun. Light wind with little turbulence. Left station at 1110, 1615. Checked traps; all grain enters in and around the new trap + a corey of about 30 seen foraging nearby. Set and re- baited this trap. Jan.9. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 0815. Serviced trap (12 birds), reset and rebaited. Weather overcast ST and AS, light wind, no turbulence.
