W.J. Francis 1963 145. Journal Dec.23. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 1045 at Behavior Lab., weather clear, moderate to fresh NE wind with moderate turbulence. Removed trap in the Behavior lab. (a dead R leythkthalumus in this one) & inside the pen where it blocked the entrance and set two more traps. Serviced weather instruments. 1016 Checked site of trap outside the Behavior Lab. and found the trap missing. Baited the area with 3/4 can of grain. Dec.27. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0930 Fed quail in the Behavior Lab. pen with 2 cans of grain - enough to last until return from field trip. Picked up tape recorder for Laidlaw Williams from Dr. Mosher. Left at 1015 for Hastings Reservation, mileage 49147, after picking up shotgun + box of shells at MVZ. Arrived at Hastings Natural History Reservation, Monterey County at 15:30. Set and baited 3 traps in Quail Hollow and 2 near Bell house. (Mileage 49293). Noted much fresh bobcat sign.
