Dec. 20. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County.
1535. Checked the traps in the Behavior Lab. No quail, but feathers of a pre-sumed victim of a hawk just outside the trap - appeared to be Brown Towhee. A Sparrow Hawk was noted making [illegible] a pass at birds in this area two days ago.
Dec. 21. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co.
1330. Checked traps, no quail. Black and white cat stalking trap in the Behavior Lab.
1630 Checked traps again empty.
Weather today partly cloudy, with morning cloud and mist broken high clouds during the day. Light to moderate winds, not as cold as recently.

1030 Checked traps, no quail. Weather fair, thin Cirrus clouds, good visibility.
Strong turbulent easterly wind.
1600. Serviced traps, banded quail in trap outside the Behavior Lab.
