Dec. 5. Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co.
Checked and serviced traps in the
morning beginning at 0750. Since
there was still no sign of use of
the trap near the pump and
water tank, I relocated it in
quail hollow 50 paces up from
trap Q (at the base of the large
ceracothus); baited + set this
trap.
Weather this morning 9/10 thin
cirrus , about 4/10 AC-AS; gradually
increased to overcast by 1230, still
thin enough to see the sun's disc.
From 1300 to 1400 I again made
a round of the traps, + trapped the
18 quail in trap B-1. By 1500 the
overcast could be seen to be a band
of cloud moving eastward, and by
1530 only 1/10 sky cover remained.
Dec. 6. Hastings Reservation Monterey Co.
0750 Weather bright and sunny
but with very thin cirrus overcast with
breaks; later a heavier band of
AS moved over, clearing entirely
by 1400.
The two traps near the reser-
nation gate are apparently quite
