W. J. Francis 1963 Journal Dec. 1. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 1615 at Behavior Lab. pen. Weather clear, light wind with no turbulence. Vis- ilibility good locally, mist & haze over the day. Set the trap in the pen & laited in and around it with a full can of grain. Sunlight on part of the top of the pen only. 1627 Entire pen structure in shadow, upper half of surrounding trees in sunlight. 1705. Moderate wind gusts did not persist; ended observation at this time. Dec. 2. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County 0820. at Behavior Lab. pen, serviced weather instruments and trap. 0900 Weather: Clear, after stratus and ST-CU topping the hills in early morning, locally very light wind (strong gusts noted earlier in the morning en route here). Removed trap from the pen, & left at 0910, having filled the water hole, & scattered one can of grain in addition to that remaining from yesterday's bait.
