W. J. Francis 1963. 135. Journal. Nov. 25. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0950 at Behavin Lab. pen, weather overst thin cirrus with breaks strong + very turbulent wind and exceptional visibility. Wind from NE, indicates CPK air mass. Serviced trap and weather instruments. Nov. 27. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0950 at Behavin Lab. pen, weather thin Ci overcast, light wind with moderate turbulence, slightly hazy with fair visibility. Set trap and baited with a full can of grain. Observed until 1035. Nov. 28. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0930, at Behavin Lab. pen serviced trap, left unset, + baited a full can of grain. In removing birds from the trap, they showed a pre- frence for the lowest corner in seeking escape, and consequently did not readily go through the exit gate which was up-slope. I moved the trap to place the exit opening down hill. Weather clear, strong + very turbulent east wind. Left the Lab. at 1000.
