W. J. Francis 1963. 134. Journal. Nov. 21. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County 3/10 AC (mostly in SE quadrant) and 2/10 CS (generally to the west). Wind light to moderate with moderate turbulence, exceptional visibility. 1125 Sky is now 8/10 AC, in broad moving from the west, wind moderate to fresh. 1145 Unset the trap, added another 1/2 case of grain, + left the station at 1150. Nov. 22. Friday. Berkeley, California President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, this morning Nov. 24. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 1500. Serviced rain gage in Beharin lob. (1.28"). Weather clear, few CiCu to west calm. Set trap in the pen & baited with 1/2 can of grain (one day estimated ration). All grain put out Thursday had been eaten. I cleaned the observation shut, in- c luding evicting one house mouse. Stopped probable mouse entrance with steel wool, and sprayed with in- secticide when I left at 1535.
