W.J. Francis 1963. 123. Journal. Oct. 18. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. in the trap and approaches. Added 1/2 case of bait. Vegetation in the pen is taking on a new look - most of the annual weeds that have been prominent are dead + fallen; some composites are flourishing and flowering, and all the exposed surface is covered with a good growth of new grass. The General Baccharis plants are thriving after the early rains - both those planted last spring, and the natural seedlings. Left the station at 1020. Oct. 19. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 11/20 at Behavin lab. pen weather overcast 57, est. 3000' base. Light wind, no turbulence - cool, below 60°F all morning. Serviced the traps inside the pen, and left it unset. Oct. 20. 2000. Set and rebaited the trap. Oct. 21. Monday. 08/10 at Behavin lab. pen, weather overcast 57 about 300' above the station; very light wind, no turbulence.
