Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. leaving only a rosette of branches near the ground; in D-4, one major stem was down; and several small stems in all eucalypts. These ap- peared to have been weakened by rotting just below the surface of the ground where they broke off under the wind impact. Left trap unset and baited when I left at 0900. Oct. 13. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 1700 Weather at Behavior Lab. 8/10 AS and C1, thin clouds after a clear day, no wind. Serviced + set trap, baited in the trap area with 3/4 can of hen chow; scattered 1/4 can in center clearing. Noted a number of mole ridges. Left the station at 1730. Oct. 14. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County 05/10 Weather at Behavior Lab. pen: broken sky with 5/10 AC and 4/10 C1, calm. Thick stratus bank covering hills to west extending from near sea level to just above station level and ST filling ravines locally below the stations. Serviced trap and weather instruments. Added 1/2 can pigeon grains; left trap unset. Left at 0920.
