W.J. Francis 1963 Journal. Oct. 4. Hastings Reservation, Monterey County. checked traps & observing grain in their vicinity. Oct. 5. Checked the traps, and unset all six, leaving them in place. Left the Reservation at 0937 (mi. 46284) and arrived at Berkeley 1236 (mi. 46428). Total trip mileage 353. Oct. 7. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 0840 at Behavin Lab. Weather 4/10 thin AS. Very light wind, noturbulence. No appreciable dew. Set trap in c-10, all grain left in the open trap last week was eaten, so either birds or rodents have been going in the trap. Filled water hole and serviced instruments. 0910 wind furthered to moderate, with moderate turbulence. 0930 scattered one can of pigeon grains in center & per & around trap approaches, in addition to 1/2 can used to bait the trap.
