During the day I placed a trap with underground tunnel entrance below the hillside brush in trade of the Bell house; and a small trap near the pump across the canyon. Removed the small trap from near the brush patch in front of the White house. Oct. 4. Hastings Reservation Monterey County. Checked traps beginning at 0840 and again at 1140, no birds in them. Moved the large figure-8 trap from the gully near the barn to the level ground in front of the White house. 1740 Weather: overcast sc. giving what an apparent early dusk. Started
