Oct. 21 Hastings Reservation, Monterey County. a large figure eight trap in the gully opposite the old barn, and smaller traps (with entrance funnel inserted) near bush by White house, and by large Canothus in "Quail Hollow" in back of Davis house. Oct. 2 Placed two traps near entrance gate. Oct. 3 Hastings Reservation, Monterey County. 0830 Checked traps - no birds but bait entirely eaten probably by ground squirrels. Rebaited all three. Excerpts from H. White weather log: "2 Sept. Foxboro purple 77 (67 actual) red 105 (95 actual), blue 82. Time 11:15. Friez temp. 90, RH 31. Time 12:00.
