W. J. Francis 1963. Journal Sept. 10. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 0945. Weather at Behavior lab clear, very light wind. Replenished water hole, and checked instruments; wind pen operating ok. Checked trap and released Scrub Jay in it. Sept. 11. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County, 0800 at Behavior lab. Weather overcast with streaks As and high Sc, thicker in the east. Nearly calm. Checked trap outside the pen, released a finch, and left it unset. Observed gruel in the pen until 0847, then refilled water hole. Sept. 12. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 1710 at Behavior Lab. pen to read rain gauge. Weather overcast with St Sc Ac, low St on slopes of Grizzly Peak. Showers now ended after occurring throughout the day, total 0.15". Baited and set trap outside. Sept. 13. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County, 1010 at Behavior Lab. pen. Weather nearly clear, about 1/10 Sc remnants of morning over. Ground damp from yesterday's rain plus fog
