W.J. Francois 1963 103. Journal Aug. 26, 1963. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0940 at Behavin bob. pen, weather clear, light wind with slight turbulence. Serviced instruments, spread 1 can of pigeon grains, rigged hose to supply trickle of water to the water hole. Left at 1000. Departed Berkeley in the station wagon at 1340, mileage 44546, and arrived at Hastings reservation about 1650, mileage 44691. Observed gnuait feeding near the head quarters area until 1900. Aug. 27, 1963. Hastings Reservation Waterway Co. Took station at 0802 near the water-tank and pump, where seepage provides a ground level water hole, using the car as a shield. Weather clear and calm. Watched this area until 0855 when Guiza took over until 0930. Hastings Weather Record: Rain Aug. 8 - .01"; Aug. 9 - T.
