Weather clear, light to moderate
wind with moderate turbulence.
1313. Examined image of eclipse
as projected by binoculars: over-
lap estimated at 1/5 the sun's
diameter, which would reduce
the light by less than 4 %.
1323 Light meter reading
(same conditions) about f 11.5 at '/100 sec.
+326 1333. Shadow an eclipse image
cuts off about 1/4 of the sun's
circumference. 1344. Little
apparent change in eclipse
image; about 1/4 of circumference
of sun cut off by shadow, a
little less than 1/3 its diameter,
with the curvature of the moon's
shadow definitely greater than
the curvature of the sun's disc.
Light reduction on this basis
would be less than 10% maximum.
