W.J. Francis 1963. 84. Journal July 19, Strawberry Canyon Alameda Co. 1900. At Behavior Lab pen, weather clear (ST lifted over hills generally about 1300 today) very light wind with no perceptible turbulence. Refilled water-hole. 1909. Entire ground surface in shade, sun still on top and sides of enclosure. 1930 Sun clear of entire enclosure, only visible in surrounding trees. 2008. Sun is now off all the surrounding trees. 2025 Sky is gray, no sunlight anywhere in sight, 2026 Orange & perched on top of instrument shelter. 2030 Orange flew to E-7, then & with two chicks came to base of E-7 roost. Two squill calls heard after a bird flew into the roost. 2033 & and two large chicks flew into E-7 roost, as &3 & ran across clearing then down NE fence. 0836 &3 & dusted and ran to B-7 eucalyptus.
