July 5. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda
County. 1915 at Behavin Lab. pen.
Weather: stratus gradually ad-
vancing up the westward slopes of
the Berkeley Hills; some blue sky
visible to the east. The pen is out
of the sunshine but not fogged in at
this time. Wind light with slight
turbulence. 1930 Overcast now
general, less than 100' above the
station, with patchy fog down to
the ground in the surrounding area.
1940 Clouds generally lowered to ground
level, less than half the time clearing.
Visibility generally under 100 yards.
1954 Clouds raising, thinning and
clearing, much blue sky was visible
and sunshine on surrounding trees;
mostly good visibility. 1957. I Red A
feeding in B-9 then walked down into
weeds. 2000 Sky 7/10 clear stratus
bank only in the west ridge. At
2020 Thick stratus again covered
the area coming down to ground
level with reduced visibility at
2026. Ended obs. at 2030.
