W.J. Francis 1963. 67. Journal. June 17. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. layer had settled in closely, with visibility remaining less than 50 yards. June 18. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0747. Belair hbr. in thick ST with base about 600 feet below the station. Very active fog drip from Eucalyptus, taller weeds very wet with inter- cepted fog drops, and netting on top of the pen covered with water drops. When a 8 quail walked across this, a shower of water drops fell as he shook the setting. Visibility 30-40 yards, light wind. Ground surface & lower vegetation nearly dry, except where drip has occurred. 0808 Entered pen to check A-3 nest and to service instruments. 1500 Weather: clouds lifted to variable base 50-200 feet above the station, and thinned so that the disk of the sun is intermittently visible. Light to moderate wind. Observed until 1700.
