W.J. Francis 1963 65. Journal. June 12, Strawberry Camp, Alameda Co. 06:50 Weather: sky obscured within ST covering the hills, base estimated 400' below Behavin hbr. stations. Very light wind, no turbulence, visibility clear than 50 yards, active fog drops from Eucalyptus trees in the vicinity. By 0725 the sky was appreciably lighter, and visibility up to 100 yards. 0800 Cloud base lifted from the ground, with visibility locally unrestricted, about 1/4 mile in surrounding area. 0910 red flag across clearing from D-8 to E-2. 0920 clouds thicken and lower with somewhat more wind and light turbulence. 1325. Weather fair, about 5/10 high SC, moderate wind with light turbulence. 1925 Overcast ST along hills, with base variable less than 100' above stations. Wind very light, no tur- bulence, visibility locally un- restricted. 1935 lower clouds began blowing through the pen. Observed in pen until 2005.
