This afternoon built a blind above Maria Spring on the north slope of the hill, for future observations, and surrounded with 2 strands of barbed wire to keep cattle out. left the ranch at 1710, mileage 39,279, and reached home in Berkeley at 2215, mileage 39,515. Total trip miles - 54 1/2 miles. May 27. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 1926 Weather overcast with recently formed ST over the hills, base less than 100 feet above the station. Very light wind. Cloud thickened rapidly, low- curing tops of trees seen from day 1930 At 1936 cloud began blowing through the plex to ground level. At 2015 checked rain gage (0.01") and reset & baited Bailey traps, then discontinued observations. Also checked area of commotion in D-1 + found fresh gopher workings
