Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 1300 Checked walk-in trap - all grain eaten, with a Scrub-Jay in the trap & another nearby. Swail calls were heard nearby. Bailey trap near pen in Behavior Lab again opening & empty. Traps were not reset. Weather clear and sunny, moderate wind with light turbulence. Checked instruments - see weather log. set open modified Bailey trap in pen near water hole and baited it. Tare weight of holding net 112 gms. May 20. Strawberry Canyon Alameda County. 0830 Weather: Thicke or overcast with behavior lab in clouds about 400' above the base. Visibility very low - less than 50 yards; light drizzle occassionally, fog drip from trees - everything pretty wet. Moderate SE wind light turbulence. Checked rain gage & left at 0840.
