Weather clear, practically flat calm. May 16. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 1300 Checked traps - walk in trap over the hill no sign of birds being near. Bailey trap near pen sprung & empty, Worked in pen weeding, checking instruments, rebuilding water pool and stream until 15-30. Weather clear, hot, light wind. May 17. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0820 Checked traps - walk in trap in chaparral - no sign of birds. Bailey trap near pen again sprung & empty. Refilled water hole, left at 0846! May 18.
