" 1 April 1963 Mon. 16 Cal quail on lawn at White house, 8 ♀, 8 ♂. Feeding 9am. Showers began last night alternating with hail. Showers most of day (7-day). " 2 Apr. 63 8 A.M. Tues. Quail heard calling in Ceanothus 100-200 feet NE of the shelter. " 14 Apr. 63 - Sunday. Rain during nite. " 15 Apr. 63 Mon. Rain during Sun. afternoon & nite. " 26 Apr. Fri. 8 A.M. Showers all day Thur. " 27 Apr. Sat 9 AM. Showers on Fri. End excerpt. May 11. Hastings Reservation, Monterey County. 0700 Weather cloudy, overcast with CO and SC, intermittent rain last nite and this morning. Vegetation dripping wet Quail traps set last nite all partly sprung but two, doors failed to operate properly, or a large animal springing them. Left for Berkeley at 0930 arrived home 1347 (38608), overall mileage 565.
