Visited Mr. Fred Coole from 11 to 12, then proceeded via Jolon and Hunting Liggett Military Reservation, Greenfield, Arroyo Seco Road, to Hastings Reservation at 15-45' (38,456) 1615 Checked instruments. From 1900 to 1940 observed quail and possible watering points. Growth of vegetation is so lush that a bird would have difficulty getting to water near the pump, and water is available all along the usually dry stream (result of .15" rain last night plus generally high rainfall the last 2 months).
